Macro Wholefoods Market owner, Pierce Cody said: "Macro's offering appeals to people of all ages who understand the nutritional and health benefits of natural and organic foods and enjoy its superior taste. Macro caters to vegetarian and vegan customers, those seeking gluten-free or kosher foods, people with food allergies and cancer sufferers as well as pregnant women and families with young children. "Whilst it's still a maturing market in Australia, the growth of the organic industry is part of a global sea change where people are moving to clean food and clean living. One of the primary benefits of the organic movement is the support it gives to growers, processors and consumers who are passionate about the fragility of the environment."
a little history...
Macro is really growing. Our Bondi Junction store has attracted a large and loyal following over the past 22 years.
In 2004, Macro attracted major new investment from the current owners: Pierce Cody, founder of Cody Outdoor and Brett Blundy, founder of Sanity Music and Bras n Things. They share a passion for natural food and have a joint vision to develop and grow the Macro business.
In December 2004, we opened our second store at Crows Nest, in Sydney and our first store in Melbourne opened in Bridge Rd, Richmond in September 2005. A flurry of openings followed in 2006 and we now proudly operate 7 stores and 1 stand-alone cafe nationally. And we're still growing!
In June 2005, Macro Bondi Junction won the major award at the Bondi Junction Business Awards - awarded Best Business (The Legend) as well as the award for the business with the Boldest Environmental Initiative.
Macro Wholefoods Market intends to bring organics to an even wider community as we open further stores in NSW, VIC and expand into Queensland in 2008.
