We know our reputation stands or falls on the wholesome quality of our merchandise. That's why we have gone to great lengths to make sure that all our products are wholesome, pure and safe to eat. At Macro, we know exactly where everything we offer comes from and how it is processed; and we're happy to share that information with you.

At Macro, we adhere to a charter of quality:

• All products are examined and evaluated according to our stringent standards
• Where possible we offer foods free from artificial additives including preservatives, colours, flavours, sweeteners and hydrogenated oils.

Our product selection criteria

a commitment to organic and biodynamic

• products that are certified organic and biodynamic are given our first preference
• where an organic or biodynamic product is unavailable we will source the cleanest, highest quality, natural product we can find - always seeking a chemical-free and, where applicable, hormone-free alternative
• in view of helping farmers committed to organic principles, we will support and stock products 'in conversion', thereby investing in the future of sustainable farming

a commitment to minimal processing

• we encourage consumption of unrefined wholefoods and have an extensive offering of fresh produce and bulk grains, nuts, seeds and beans
• the bulk of our products are free from artificial ingredients, preservatives, additives, colours, flavours, GMOs and hydrogenated oils

a commitment to supporting special dietary requirements

• we stock a range of 'free from' foods - gluten, dairy, wheat and sugar free
• other special consumer needs we cater for include: vegan, kosher, Australian produced and artisan. We seek out the most natural and highest quality alternative available

a commitment to ethical supply chain farming

• we are committed to Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance, where they support our product range categories. Fairtrade and Rainforest certification ensures that goods and services were produced in compliance with strict guidelines that protect the environment, wildlife, workers and local communities
• we will not stock any product that involves animal testing, animal cruelty or endangered species
• we're currently working with our suppliers to develop products that only use free range or organic/biodynamic eggs

a commitment to minimising environmental impact

• our first priority is to source local organic and biodynamic produce, thereby helping to reduce our environmental footprint and support local communities and farmers
• all household products in our store are produced from plant ingredients and minerals and are biodegradable, phosphate free and non-toxic
